Grant, completing the Civil War and Reconstruction years, and advancing into Grant's second term as president. To sustain this project through Grant's presidency, his last years (1877-1885), and a new edition of his important Memoirs, the Association needs NEH funds to support editorial salaries and research assistants.

The Ulysses S. Grant Association has published 30 volumes of The Papers of Ulysses S. Grant, with the thirty first volume in press at the Southern Illinois University Press. To complete the project successfully, we need to publish a supplementary volume including correspondence discovered since the publication of the chronological volumes, prepare a new edition of The Personal Memoirs of U.S. Grant, and prepare a digitized version of our volumes and an overall index. The Association needs NEH funds to support the managing editor's salary and archival researching.

Grant Association has published 31 volumes of the Papers of Ulysses S. Grant with the 32nd volume in press at the Southern Illinois University Press. To complete the project successfully, we need to publish the first scholarly edition of the two volume Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant. We plan to publish the Memoirs in letterpress edition, and we will digitize and place them on our website. Finally, we will prepare a cumulative index of all the publications.
