the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute’s (BCRI) collections, programs, and
partnerships to engage area high school students in a series of training
experiences and internship opportunities.
The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute (BCRI) sponsors the Legacy Youth Leadership Program (LYLP) for high school students to engage them in a series of training and internship opportunities to understand how the history of the civil rights movement relates to contemporary human rights issues. Upon completion of the program, Legacy Youth Leadership students are certified as BCRI docents. The goal of the program is to help young people develop into lifelong learners, productive citizens, and community leaders. |
