A series of public programs about Revolutionary Era America held at five locations in Appalachian Ohio.

Ohio Country 1776: Gateway to America marks the anniversary with a series of 25 public programs throughout Appalachian Ohio at sites founded by Revolutionary War veterans. Each program, determined in consultation with specialists and scholars, is organized around one of 5 themes at the 5 sites and includes both formal and experiential opportunities for learning. These programs expand public understanding of Revolutionary-era America by turning attention to the local, material, and intellectual realities of building a nation on its first major frontier. The 5x5 project celebrates America's 250th anniversary and the resilience, ingenuity, and idealism at the heart of the American identity.
